15.06.2022: A *NEW* Ph.D Position Available!

We have a PhD position available in heterogeneous catalytic photo/electrochemical fixation of dinitrogen (N2) into valuable organic compounds in continuous flow. The specific project involves application of a heterogeneous photo/electrochemical catalyst for the purpose of organic synthesis in a microfluidic reactor. See the project-specific EURAXESS advert.


This position is part of a DFG-funded Priority Programme SPP2370 "Nitroconversion".
The PhD will spend upto 6 months at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces, under the supervision of Dr. Alexsandr Savateev and Dr. Paolo Giusto.

The Regensburg-based PhD also has the opportunity to become an associated member of an International Doctoral College funded by the EliteNetzwerk Bayern, be involved in training activities and network with valuable industrial and academic contacts.

We have a PhD position available in homogeneous catalytic photo/electrochemical strong bond activations, including the fixation of dinitrogen (N2) into valuable organic compounds. See the project-specific EURAXESS advert.

This position is 1 of 11 PhD positions as part of our Bavarian-funded International Doctoral College.
The PhD will spend up to 6 months at the University of Oxford, U.K. in the group of Dr. Daniel J. Scott as an international academic collaborating partner. The PhD will also have the opportunity to spend up to 6 months at an industrial partner of the IDK.

Ph.D. Students
We welcome qualified and motivated students who wish to join our group for a Ph.D. programme. Candidates applying from outside the University of Regensburg should send their applications to Dr. Barham by postal or e-mail. Candidates from the University of Regensburg can approach Dr. Barham directly in his office (CH 23.2.80). We encourage all candidates to file applications for suitable scholarships.

 

Postdoctoral Researchers
While we currently do not have funded postdoc positions available, we welcome qualified, motivated individuals who have secured/are willing to apply for appropriate scholarships. Please contact Dr. Barham for further information.

As a Sofja Kovalevskaja Award holder, Dr. Barham is also an Alexander von Humboldt fellow and can support applications to the Humboldt Research Fellowship for researchers coming from abroad, the Georg Forster Research Fellowship for researchers from developing countries and the Capes-Humboldt Research Fellowship for researchers from Brazil.
