Our DFG proposal to SPP2370 "Nitroconversion" was funded!
Congratulations to JPB and his collaborators at the Max Planck Institute for Colloids and Interfaces, Dr. Aleksandr Savateev (co-P.I.) and Dr. Paolo Giusto (collaborating researcher).

Together, we will develop heterogeneous catalytic photo/electrochemical fixation of dinitrogen (N2) into organic compounds. The project includes 2 PhD positions, one hosted at UR within AK Barham, and one hosted at the MPI. The UR PhD will specialize in organic chemistry: flow chemistry, applying heterogeneous photo/electrocatalysis to organic synthetic transformations. The MPI PhD will specialize in materials chemistry: heterogeneous catalyst design and synthesis, as well as post-reaction characterization of catalysts.
